What are the FluxScore smartbox insurance rules?

We don’t have too many rules; we’ve tried to make FluxScore as flexible as possible. After all, we know that for many, using a black box is the only way you can start driving freely. So, although some black boxes will have curfews, we don’t believe in curfews for young drivers. We know there are many reasons you might choose to drive at night, so we won’t penalise you for it. For more features and details visit our black box insurance policy page.

This depends on the severity of the driving behaviour. For instance, violating the speed limit or driving dangerously could result in your policy being cancelled. However, if you’ve legitimately had a bad day of driving with minor issues, it’s possible that you can recover from this by taking on board the feedback provided through the app and learning from your mistakes.

It’s worth bearing in mind that the smartbox reflects how the car is driven and does not differentiate between drivers. This means that if you share your car with siblings, parents, or someone else, the smartbox will track everyone’s driving.

The 3-strike system resets after 31 days.

Speeding while driving with a martbox can affect your driving score. The good news is that FluxScore can reduce the number of significant speeders by up to 70% and gross speeders by 60%.

Adrian Flux black box reviews

With safe driving, FluxScore can help to reduce your car insurance premiums upon renewal.

Abi Dye, 19, has been using FluxScore smartbox insurance since she passed her driving test.

“I have had the app for nearly two years now,” she said. “I find it very easy to use and it also doesn’t restrict my driving as much as I thought a black box would after I passed my test.

“The app allows you to keep track of journeys, check how many miles the vehicle has done within the renewal year and also gives you daily updates on how your driving is doing.

“One aspect of the app that I really love is that it allows you to see how much your premium is going to go down (or up) depending on how you are driving. This definitely pushed me to drive a bit safer so that I can save as much money as I possibly can when it comes to renewing the policy!”
