We know you depend on your tools and equipment for work, which is why we’re now providing a new product, Adrian Flux DNA+, completely free with your commercial van insurance policy. Adrian Flux DNA+ helps reduce the risk of your tools being stolen so you can work without interruptions.
What is Adrian Flux DNA+?
Adrian Flux DNA+ is a new product that you get automatically when you take out one of our commercial van insurance policies. You’ll receive everything you need in the post, including warning labels and a traceable solution, to help keep your tools and equipment safe:
- Clear signage that sticks onto both your van and your tools to deter thieves
- Traceable Adrian Flux DNA+ solution that you apply to equipment to improve the likelihood your tools can be recovered in the event they are stolen

We want to help keep your tools and business safe, which is why we’re giving DNA+ to policyholders. Here are just some of the ways the product can help:
- Helps reduce the likelihood your tools and equipment are stolen
- Ideal for those who keep their tools in a garage, shed, or in their van
- Ideal if your tools are difficult or expensive to replace or if you would lose earnings as a result of tool thefts
- Improves the recovery rate in the event tools get stolen
- Your unique code is stored on a dedicated database, accessible by the police
- Helps police identify that you are the rightful owner of any recovered tools
- Police can quickly and easily identify Adrian Flux DNA+ with a UV light and read your code with a basic magnifier
Who is Adrian Flux DNA+ for?
DNA+ is given to all new commercial van customers as standard from the 1st January 2025. If you’re already a business van customer with us, you’ll also receive information about the product in your renewal pack.
What’s included with Adrian Flux DNA+?
- Thirty small stickers (30mm) for individual tools
- Six toolbox stickers (75mm x 75mm)
- Four stickers for your van (one for each side window, one for the windscreen, and one for the back of your van)
How does Adrian Flux DNA+ work?
Follow the instructions below to apply the stickers to your tools and van and the DNA+ solution to your equipment.
How to apply the stickers
Here are some tips on how to apply the stickers to your van and equipment:
- Choose visible areas on your van and equipment
- Make sure areas where you’re applying the signage are clean and smooth for easier application
- Place the stickers on tools, toolboxes and equipment where you’ll use the DNA+ solution
- Apply the 75mm x 75mm stickers to any toolboxes
- Put the smaller 30mm stickers on any high-value tools and equipment
- Apply the warning sign to the back of your van and place a label on one of your van’s side windows and another on the windscreen, ensuring they don’t obstruct your view when driving
How to apply the Adrian Flux DNA+ solution
Read our step-by-step guide on how to apply the DNA+ solution. Before you apply, make sure you look at our tips on how to do this below.
- Ensure all surfaces you’re applying the solution to are clean, dry and free from grease, oil or dirt
- Shake the dispenser for around 30 seconds so the identifying particles are evenly distributed throughout the liquid
- Unscrew the cap and dab the applicator/brush in multiple areas along the surface, gently rotating the applicator between your fingers
- Shake the dispenser occasionally while applying
- Wait until the liquid dries – it is white when applied but will dry clear
- When finished, clean the top of the bottle and replace the cap securely
Tips for applying the DNA+ solution
Here are our tips for applying the Adrian Flux DNA+ solution to your tools and equipment:
- Choose tools or items thieves can easily steal and sell
- Apply to hidden and uneven surfaces so the solution cannot be removed easily (e.g. the undersides of tools or toolboxes, slots, inside flaps and grills)
- If you have concerns, test the solution on an inconspicuous area or a similar surface beforehand
- The coded solution may be visible on light surfaces so apply it in darker concealed areas
- If you accidentally apply to areas you don’t want marked, wipe immediately with a damp cloth
Here are a few things to avoid
- Don’t dilute the solution
- Don’t apply to moving parts (e.g. nuts and bolts, keys and switches)
- Don’t store or use in extreme hot or cold temperatures
- Don’t write or paint with the solution; a dab is all that is needed
- Avoid highly visible or flat shiny surfaces, switches, buttons, screens, joints and any surfaces that could be exposed to direct sunlight or general wear and tear
